With negative headlines dominating the news of late, it is important to switch focus to what is happening on our doorsteps. In mid July, PCE were invited by the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, to attend a Video and Photographic Masterclass hosted by local film making gurus EyeFilm. The 2 hour masterclass provided expert guidance on how to capture compelling footage and more importantly, how to create a 15 second video. Following the event, the challenge was laid for Steve (our Technical Author) to compile a short 15 second video, showcasing our abilities to new audiences, as part of #NorfolkDay, which you can see here 15SecBiz
This is the inaugural celebration of Norfolk Day and much like its Suffolk counterpart, was conceived to showcase the exceptional county of Norfolk and the fine businesses in the region. Both counties are often typecast by national stereotypes, but lead the charge in an array of industries, such as agriculture, medicine, computer science and industrial automation. PCE are positioned in the Waveney Valley, enjoying the best of both worlds.
Steve commented on the importance of regional days “Being from Norwich, I am immensely proud of Norfolk’s place in history and of the way we are at the forefront of innovation. It is vital that we celebrate what is great about our counties, whether it is Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, as we are all part of the rich tapestry that is East Anglia”.
On the 27th July 2018, our MD James Cook and Tech Author Steve Mortlock, made their way to Norwich Cathedral, where a number of leading Norfolk businesses had assembled to view the show reel of video efforts. Unfortunately our 15 second video didn’t win the coveted Best Video Oscar, but we were able to showcase our capabilities to a new audience, harvesting some great ideas for future media content.
So whether it is Norfolk, Suffolk, Hampshire, Dorset, Cornwall, or Cumbria day, celebrate what is great about where you live, as there are great things happening on your doorstep.
